MEET OUR PASTORS

      Joel and Linda Pledge are the founding pastors of CrossRoads, and both are ordained ministers in the Assemblies of God. Joel received his bachelor's degree from Southwestern University of the Assemblies of God, and a Masters of Divinity from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO.  Linda received her bachelor's degree from University of South Dakota and later added a Diploma in Biblical Studies from Central Bible College, Springfield, MO. They have two daughters, Bethany, who lives in Chicago, and Lindsay, a student at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Pastor Joel and Linda have 17 years of pastoral ministry in Tennessee and Illinois.

      Pastor Joel has served as a missionary-teacher for fourteen years with the School of Christ International throughout Russia. The School of Christ International was founded by Rev. Bert Clendennen, Beaumont, TX, and trains church leaders and pastors in over 100 nations. Pastor Joel trained over 1,000 Russian pastors in the School of Christ, and he still ministers overseas periodically. Pastor says, "My experience in the School of Christ was the single most powerful influence of my life.  I was awestruck at the miracles of God that I witnessed in the lives of Russian church leaders. Through the School of Christ, I understood that the God I served was much bigger and more powerful than I had ever known, and it has radically transformed my life and ministry." Pastor Joel continues to take occasional mission trips and encourages the local congregation to participate.

      Through the years, Linda has been a partner in ministry with her husband. She is a frequent ladies speaker in various local, state, and regional meetings, and an excellent Bible teacher.  She loves to communicate the gospel message, revealing biblical truth in a powerful but practical way. Her background is radio and public relations.  

      Pastor and Linda are very excited about the ministry of CrossRoads Assembly. Their pastoral focus is to call, challenge, and equip believers for the work of the ministry; to fully yield their individual giftedness to the Holy Spirit in order to edify the Body of Christ; and to go into all the world with the message of Jesus Christ---and Him crucified!

An Invitation from Pastor

Recently God brought us to an intersection in our lives. A time of change and transition.  A time of entering into a new phase of our lives.  And we are so glad that He did. 

We all come to such crossroads in our lives---those moments when we must make a decision, choose which direction to go, and take another look at the map.  At the crossroads, we often feel overwhelmed, confused or afraid.  It can also be very exciting!

That's why we enjoy the work of the ministry--it is exciting to see God work in the lives of His people. He works in our lives to bring us together and to chart our course into the future.

We give to you our personal invitation to join with us in our walk of faith with the Lord.  Our heart as pastors is to introduce you to the Lord, to help you to walk with Him, and to live out His life in the everyday world.
